The word "consulting" has not become habitual yet. Though presently in Russia, there are quite a few companies in this market, including those that provide consulting services in the field of information technologies.

Some companies migrated to this business from audit services, others - from system integration, and the rest were the certain software producers/dealers.

Due to their experience and technology, auditors are able to provide a high-quality financial consulting but in accordance with business ethics an auditor should be opposed to the enterprise he checks and the consultant's activity implies collaboration.

Those companies that have recently supplied computer hardware and equipment, and installed local networks (means rendering the information and technical services but not the technological ones) now frequently act not so much on the part of a customer as of "technique".

Consulting of the software developers (western or Russian) is directly connected with the realization of a manufactured product. Nobody knows the product better than the producers themselves, though one cannot always say with certainty that the customer needs this very product.

Now about us. What is our difference from other consultants and where did we come to this business from?

We were one of the first companies who began rendering consulting services to the enterprises. Our business is also concerned with the information technologies. But we know that no software operates in itself. To satisfy the customer needs in the achievement of his goal on business development it's not enough to choose the software. It is required to adjust this software, train the staff to operate it, introduce new technology and the standards of work.

In early 90's, being engaged in privatization of the large industrial enterprises, we had to carry out the estimation of a corporate economical and financial situation frequently enough. By that moment the old state system of the enterprise control (the ministries, State Planning Committee) had ceased to exist while a new system didn't exist yet. It was clear that later on the companies would need the consulting services in all financial fields: accounting, finances, logistics, marketing, etc. That is the whole corporate financial and economical activity to be re-built and the business control integrated system to be created.

We carried out several interesting projects but the series of economic crises caused a depression in the consulting market. Kept on moving towards our target, we learnt, studied the western experience and practiced our own technologies. And then since 1999, the market was matured and the demand for the consulting services increased.

Presently, nobody doubts about the necessity to engage the advisers for solving business problems. Now the matter is in the one whom to choose. And this is a question of trust and reputation. Prior to the revolution in the Russian business circles they said: "Profit is above all and honour is above the profit! "It is conformable to us.
